Small plots and lots in the Chaco

Not all Chaco land comes in thousands of hectares. Smaller plots (chacras) and lots work for homesteads, small-scale farming, rural tourism or investment near towns.

Updated October 2026

Where the smaller plots are

Usually near service towns: Filadelfia and Loma Plata (Boquerón), Villa Hayes and Benjamín Aceval (Presidente Hayes, closest to Asunción) and along the Trans-Chaco Highway (PY09).

Before you buy a small plot

  • Confirm whether it is rural or urban land: rules and taxes differ.
  • Get the plan and property number (finca) so a notary can check the Public Registry.
  • Check year-round access: some dirt roads close after rain.
  • Ask about water: well, aquifer or reservoir.
